About Me:
I am a Curriculum Coordinator within the Office of the Registrar at Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU), and a practitioner of the Visual Arts in my free time. I am also a student, currently completing my Master of Arts Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (MAIS), with a focus in Educational Studies. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, drawing, painting, curling, and ballet.
Artist Statement:
I am interested in drawing and painting the beautiful landscapes of British Columbia. I grew up spending time at my family's rustic cabin on Phillmore Point, Galiano Island, exploring the surrounding natural environment. I developed a deep appreciation for, and innate connectedness to nature early in life, which I believe has deeply influenced who I am today. I feel this perspective has informed my art too, and I experience a similar meditative state working on a landscape painting or drawing as I do hiking a mountain, walking through a forest or being out on the water.
